Raindrop
It started with a single raindrop
Plop, kerplunking, pitter, pat
That pooled in puddles deep and wide
Beside a dark and dewy thicket
Cricket chirping fades to droning
Moaning thunderous storm clouds loom
Soon the tempest bellows in
It started with a single raindrop.

Another circular poems for Jane Dougherty’s Poetry Challenge. I decided to give this one its own post. 😊

[…] I had originally listed two poems in this post. I decided to give Raindrop her own voice. She moved HERE. […]

AND… another one that reads great back and forth! I think you made a new style somehow! xoxo

These words red familiar, maybe not, either memory loss or confusion – a marvelous poem. 🌹

I moved this poem to its own post to give it due presence. ‘Tis true, you may have seen it before. 😊

I love the way this builds and builds, like the storm you describe so beautifully.

Love this one! (I agreed with the Trump one, but couldn’t love it.) 🙂
I really like the onomatopoeia in this.

Thank you! It’s been a while since I heard that word. Sound is very much a part of the experience of a storm. 😉

I had to look up the spelling, but you are right that sound is a major part of the storm experience. 🙂

I looked it up too. It is one thing I love about writing…how one needs to constantly research and learn new forms, words, etc. I really do love it! 🙂

You should see the crazy things I look up for my test writing assignments (as well as the crazy things I look up just because I’m me).
