Winter tree
stripped bare by the frost
wears ivy
’round her roots
so to remember the spring’s
fair blooms in waiting.

I like it. Trees are all such individuals. 🙂

I think I spent half my life up in a tree before I got too far along in age…my brother always did have more lee-way though, we know WHY girls have traditionally been more protected, but it still isn’t fair if you’re a girl and your brother is having time of his life…and you aren’t LOL

No, it’s definitely not fair…but then again…it is never too late to kick up a little dust and have fun! 🙂

Hey, I got almost enough of that years ago, used to spend a lot of time kicking up dust as you say. The main thing hampering me now is money…especially the lack thereof. 🙂

Oh…I know what you mean. Having torn a meniscus and sprained an ankle within the last year and a half, I’m not as nimble as I once was!

ooh…those are parts I didn’t even know we had…:-) I really do try to watch it, but my body thinks I’m 22. 🙂 I did do something to my left hand, and the Doc hemmed and hawed about it…I said “hey, if its just arthritis tell me and I’ll deal with it.” I hate having to run to the Doc all the time. My sister in law is 96, and she makes that an art form…not my idea of fun. 🙂

I always managed to sprain an ankle, etc. when we would go on a trip. My husband was a great walker, and we walked so much that my ankle once thought it had fallen off. 🙂

Thank you Jane. I saw this tree on the way home this week and snapped a photo of it. The vine covered area reminds me of a lady dancing. 🙂

Lovely. I like the idea that the oak is “wearing” the ivy–like a shawl.

Hey it’s your winter woman tree, or whatever that was you called it. Frosty? 😀 I may not remember the words but the image sticks. 🙂
