the Witch – A Finish the Story Challenge

From Monday’s Finish the Story Challenge…

From her small balcony, the witch watched the world go by.

She decided to have a bit of fun with what little time she had left.  The ineffective treatments had poisoned her body. Losing her hair was the final insult.

Others would have just shaved their heads or wrapped in colorful turbans. Not Annie!

To set the stage, she told the neighborhood kids that she was a witch and losing her hair was the first sign that her powers were gaining strength.  Everyday they gazed at her in wonder. On Halloween she rocked her last and then magically, she disappeared.

From Ronovan Writes: Haiku Challenge #62/Start & Hot

As the venom spread
his skin flushed hot with fever…
start the antidote!

His skin flushed hot with fever…start the antidote!

Sunday Week In Review – 13 September 2015

It’s another Sunday Week in Review…a little exercise I like to do to help me look back at the previous week’s brain spillage to assess what I was thinking throughout the week.

To do this I collect my favorite line from each piece and put it in a collective poem. In the end you sometimes discover that what you thought were random thoughts actually aren’t as random as you thought. 😜

It’s a great way to empty my head for the week ahead. You should try it. It can be rather enlightening!

So…without further ado, I give you this week’s installment…also with my favorite photo with a caption snippet!

Dateline: 13 September 2015

Purgatory doesn’t exist…but Karma sucks.
She’d smile and call me crazy. Perhaps I am, just a touch.
Sweet like vinegar.
Being good is not dependent on perfection.
Bitter frost looms nigh,
Freedom doesn’t exempt us from consequences.
Smiles never lie.
it’s plain to
see, you had me at
“hello”.
So…he sits on Maxwell’s head.
The End

Have a spectacular week my fellow word pressers! 😊

A Beautiful Obsession

My love for you began
before I understood that
you would be a life-long
obsession. You wooed me
with promises of blissful
release, and pledged to
sustain me, encouraging
me to use you whenever
I had need. You tickled
my ears with sweet
nothings, encouraging
me to dance, to twirl
through lyrical dips and
curves that left me
breathless and wanting
for more.

You held nothing back,
revealing your fierce
passion and power to
rattle and persuade, cool
and cunning, cutting me
to the heart with
razor-like precision.
It only made me love
you more, drawing me
deep, with a yearning to
trace every syllable of
your complexity, fingers
trembling with each
touch, you became
an empty open book
begging to be filled.

Beautiful, beautiful
Words…if you must
know, you had me at
“hello”.
