i still dream
.
time
may be slipping…
while
winter is lingering
hints of spring quicken my heart and soul
what if
I have another summer
another autumn
to fulfill
dreams still in the wings
~kat
When I was younger I believed the old adage, ‘it’s never too late to…(fill in a dream here)”. It was the motivating nudge I needed to reach for the impossible. But now that I am older, some of those dreams have faded. For the first time in my life, I realize that I may not have the time to reach some of those goals I’ve held deep inside. But just because I am getting on in years doesn’t mean that all those dreams have to die. Not while I am still breathing!
I took the photo above this evening, the setting sun at my back, my house in the distance atop our little hill amidst the trees. I did a wee bit of photo magic to illustrate a particular dream of mine. I want to build my very own labyrinth on our lower 1/2 acre. This is how I imagine it will look…when I’ve completed my spring/summer project.
Yep I’ve a few dreams left unsung…and if the fates allow, I’d best get cracking. I’ve a labyrinth to build!
What dreams are you still waiting to fulfill? Times a-wasting my friend. There is no time like the present to revisit that thing you thought could never happen and make a plan to do it anyway.
I’ll be sure to chronicle the unfolding of my new project here. Yep…I’m gonna do this!
Much love, peace, and dream-filled glimmers to you!

Let the hedges grow so one truly gets lost there.

What an awesome inspiration – and poem. I’m getting older too, but it’s not to late to create a labyrinth on some scale. I’ve heard it said that even following a labyrinth with your finger, engages a divine pattern of discernment. Thank you.

Years ago, on my way home from work, I frequently stopped by a little bookstore that had a labyrinth to walk the path. It truly changed me and the direction of my life at the time. Ever since, I have dreamed of creating my own sacred space. We moved to this house with the land to do it. The earth space in my yard has been calling to me ✨💚✨

I’ve been thinking of painting one. This would be something I’d love to do. I’m grateful for your blessing of land and the good use you put to it.

That is a wonderful idea Debra. There is something so mystical and magical about labyrinths and the process of creating them in all forms! I have labyrinth earrings I wear when I need a rudder. 🥰

You could mark it out with sand and invite everyone you know and those you don’t to come and tread the path repeatedly until it is well-worn in the grass. Then, mark the boundaries with cobblestones interspersed with lavender. I shall await the reports with glee!

I love the lavender idea!!! It is not something the deer would munch on either!!! I also had thought of the sand idea. Would love to be able to walk the circuit barefoot 🥰my intention would be to register it and invite others to enjoy it. 😊
