another waiting room tableau
my life is now spent
in bleak waiting rooms
waiting for answers
where I wonder
if there are limits
to hope…I hope not
~kat
The Tableau, a poetry form created by Emily Romano in October of 2008, consists of one or more verses, each having six lines. Each line should have five beats. There is no set rhyme scheme, although rhyme may be present. The title should contain the word tableau.
Since the dictionary states the word tableau means picture or representation, the poem should reflect this. A picture should come to mind as the poem is read.

Hope you are doing well. The current state of healthcare with a heavy reliance on specialties means that a simple visit to a family doc could mean referrals to several more docs before a treatment is finally offered for whatever ails you. It can be very frustrating.

Exactly. I’m waiting on 4 specialists. The slow train to recovery.

My partner has been dealing with pain for almost 6 months. 5 separate specialists, 3 MRI’s, nerve study, CT scan, X-rays later and we finally have a diagnosis…sort of… it’s exhausting!

“Mushy medicine” is how my husband is describing the process. Mostly guess work so far. Sorry you’ve gone through this to

I miss the days when you could see one family doctor and they took care of everything for you. Nowadays all GPs are good for is writing prescriptions for established meds and storing a copy of your advanced directive… that’s a big push at my general doc.
