‘Why, what could she have done, being what she is?
Was there another Troy for her to burn?’
—W.B. Yeats
Women Scorned
From the shadows, secrets silenced
by violence
with no amends
from vile men,
women have found their voice to tell
tales of hell
and finally
the world sees
that they refuse to be ashamed,
they’re naming names,
they will be heard!
Let truth emerge!

It reminded of the scarlet letter only shorter. Impressive write for such few words. I just wrote a new short and I would love your feedback. It’s called The Writers Block. Yours thoughts would be incredible

If they (we) all stood up or swung a punch or kicked out it would have to stop.

And I do think, especially in the case of powerful abusers, those who can take them out are finally listening to and taking seriously the stories of the abused. Sadly the takedowns haven’t reached the predator in chief, but I keep hoping. 😟

Maybe times are changing. It’s certainly hard to contain a story once it starts.

Of course the latest on that front is that “he” claims the actual recordings of his own voice were somehow fabricated by fake news. There is no end to the lies and insanity on that front! 😡

I still can’t get over the fact that this intellectual amoeba was voted into office. Usually people like him need a military putsch to take control.

This is the second time a conservative lost the popular vote yet won the election through the electoral college (a gerrymandered, obsolete idea that is long overdue being disbanded). I do take comfort in the fact that there are more people than not who didn’t vote for this. But it certainly doesn’t help our current dilemma. He may not have had a military putsch to get him in, but he has certainly surrounded himself with generals in the aftermath.

And enough supporters in the godforsaken backwoods to keep him there.

The city where I live is blue surrounded by a sea of those bloody reds. It is scary.

It’s the same everywhere. The cities are the places where people learn how to live together, where the schools are, where the culture is. The countryside is where people stay locked in the way they’ve been doing things for generations and they hate the city folk telling them they’re wrong-headed.
