My take on this week’s Whiteout Wednesday text prompt. This is such a fun and interesting challenge. If you would like to give it a try, click HERE.

cold, ugly, imperfect…
teeth flapping in the wind
it all hurts
this face that looks back
makes everything nothing
only yesterday,
breathing
only yesterday,
waiting to be something
then someone says,
have a heart to forget,
a mind to suffer.
You, over there, you in the front
selling love over death.

Thanks so much Kat!
WOW! I sitting here and just soaking up your response – it’s surprising how much tone and feeling can change by this process – and I really love how you’ve played with the original – and composed or recomposed it into something new. And I have to say, the starting point piece is rather weighty, kind of darkish – and yet, here you have run the same feelings and ended it with, what I feel and read and interpret as something hopeful – light and love – and that’s really something! Really – I’m not kidding when I say I’m just sitting with this and absorbing. 🙂

Kat, you’ve inspired me to have a go! Though I did struggle with how to tackle the whiteout and shaded bits, needing to try it in Open Office when a blog draft didn’t work and then not making a completely successful transfer to my blog. Oh well… I might crack the secret one day! Love the different poetic forms you engage with and how you inspire us to have a go. If I had sufficient mental energy I might try a few more! 🙂 xo

I liked how you lightened the unused text. I did the same thing you did. Moved it to Word. But then I took a snapshot of it and loaded it back into WP. Like you I haven’t had success copying and pasting text attributes. 😊
