The Topic is Love

Rashmi from mindandlifematters has presented us this week with a sublime Limerick Challenge.  The prompt: Love. And I think, what more could be written that has not already been penned on this topic? My Limerick then, borrows a touch from one of the greats…with a bit of my own words…I hope he doesn’t mind our collaboration! 🙂

In a million small ways, she inhabits his days
Her eyes, how they smile when he catches their gaze
There’s no doubt he was smitten
From the words he has written…
“How I love thee…let me count the ways!”

Mindandlifematters presented us with a timely challenge word this week: Gratitude.

This is a time of thankfulness for the blessings in our lives here in the US. The best blessings though, come not from what we have, but when we give. To read more or participate, click HERE.

Thankful Giving

The shelter that fed folks for years
Was in need of a few volunteers
When a youth group got wind
Helpers came filing in
As a grateful community cheered!

“Pride” – Limerick Challenge #6

This limerick in response to MindandLifeMatters Weekly Limerick Challenge #6  – Prompt: Pride. Click HERE to read more or participate!

They say, “Pride comes before the fall.”

Pride…A Limerick
 spinachsmile
She prided herself queen of style
as she sauntered her way up the aisle
with all eyes on her now
she turned round for a bow
and presented a spinach-laced smile!

Catching a Breeze – A Limerick

A limerick in response to MindLifeMatters Limerick Challenge…the prompt this week is “Breeze”. To read more click HERE.

When Autumn frost nips the trees
leaves catch a lift on the breeze
they blush gold and red
and tumble to bed
in time for some wintry zzzz’s.

Spooky – A Limerick

Sash the doors, turn out the lights…
try to hide this spooky night!
They’ll find you my sweet
And howl, “trick or treat!”
Greedy for sugary delights!
