While scrolling through social media, Lucy stopped suddenly.
“Do you recognize this photo?” the text said.
“I do!” she thought, “those are the Spinning Cups at Lakeview Amusement Park. I wonder if it’s still there?”
She expanded the photo. “That’s me and…” she glanced at the profile picture, “and that’s my cousin Sue! Wow! How many years has it been?”
Lucy read the post, “My name is Sue Miller. I’m looking for my cousin, Lucy. Please share.”
Lucy messaged her right away.
She spent the next week catching up, making up for lost time, until time ran out for Sue.

As I mentioned in another comment. I imagine the wonderful week they did have and might not have had were it not for social media. A parting nicer thought.

Awwwe, such a bittersweet tale, but more sweet than bitter I guess, for Sue spent the last week of her life happier than she would have been in a long time.

A story with a lovely poignant twist. I had to think a moment to understand the implications – which is what happens in real life when we’re suddenly confronted with bad news. Very artfully done, Kat.
