Watched a program on TV this evening that featured the story of 27 alleged victims of Bill Cosby. Wrote this poem when they were 35 in number. They are now over 50… It makes me wonder. When someone is famous, how many voices does it take to override the “his word against them” scenario. 35? 50? How many?

rising from
the muddle of
buried truths,
voices no longer
silenced by
tarnished
pennies, seeking
vindication, seeking
validation, vilified
unjustly, but
free to speak
in bellowing
whispers a
symphony of
tears…

It is truly sad! All of it. But more importantly a key to use for others to speak up. In my opinion we still live in a world of “hush hush” don’t tell anyone. Not just the predator but even from people who are suppose to love us.
It is nice to see someone writing about it.
I have to say. I’m truly sad that Bill Cosby has done this. We should learn that no actor nor athlete or anyone of high status is any less capable of doing horrible & horrific things. That was a mouth full! 💖🌹

Thank you for your comments Misty. I agree with you. I hope one day we will be at a place in our society where it doesn’t take 30 years for someone to reveal their terrible secret. And an end to the statute of limitations in our legal system for this type if issue would be a good place to start.
