hypocratic boast
save
them all
every
trembling heartbeat…
deny their humanity at the gates
~kat
The religious right conservatives republicans are at it again; passing their so-called heartbeat laws in line with their radical pro-life agendas…meanwhile children are still separated and being held in cages (at least three have died) at our southern border, Detroit still does not have safe drinking water, our children have been forced to defend themselves to confront deadly shooters in their classrooms to…some becoming tragic heroes, healthcare is once again on the chopping block, and our teachers struggle to make ends meet while educating our children. Pro-life you say? Don’t tell me how pro-life you are…show me by cherishing life once it has breath!

I’ve never been able to understand this kind of logic. Abortion (along with euthanasia, homoseuality, and many other things) is always intrinsically immoral, and can never be even kind of referred to as acceptable. We have to be extremely careful about whom we allow into the country though. The right to life inheres in each and every single person, simply because he’s a person. The right to move to another country, though, isn’t anywhere near that important. I’m merely citing the pecking order

I am apparently intrinsically immoral by your description. However, I believe that much of the moral high ground taken by religious conservatives these days has less to do with devotion to Christian values and everything to do with maintaining power, control over those that they judge as less than, and the disbursement of riches to the wealthy. I call their so-called “family values” intrinsically immoral. But what do I know.

It’s true that people can do good things for evil reasons, so you’re right there. We can’t let people take advantage of partial truths to control others. I’m merely trying to see things exactly the right way.

Totally agree with you Kat! Take care of people who have been BORN, especially little children who need food, shelter, nutrition, and education.
I do agree with Larry that we should prioritize the needs of our own citizens first.

How does one comprehend a generation of adults so spoiled and enamored of empty dogma they do nothing to prevent the slaughter of children in their schoolrooms. Every life is precious until it is born and ready for abuse.

It’s very sad. This is not an America I recognize or celebrate.

I remember travelling through the states and seeing a billboard announcing anti-abortion and right next to it one proclaiming gun rights. How is the irony lost on so many?

It is so much about fear of the other. I often wonder about their faith if they feel they have to control everything. 😳

So much propaganda – and from my experience it’s effective. There really is a fear of ‘other’ and no one recognizes the damage of this way of thinking. I would describe many of the people I met as well-intended but with a bible in one hand and a gun in the other – just odd.

I agree, well-intentioned but sadly lost (though they will try to convince you that it is others who are lost). I find myself feeling sorry for them, when I’m not feeling angry about their ignorant choices that affect us all!
