The hospice nurse had just left. Last night was not a good night.
Marion stood at the sink rinsing tea cups. It helped to do mundane things. She thought about her mom. They had spent many hours reminiscing, looking at old photo albums and laughing. That’s how she would remember…the two of them laughing so hard that their stomachs hurt.
The sun was rising and morning fog draped the edge of the garden. Marion was startled by a flash of light in the mist that looked like a woman dancing…laughing. When she turned, Marion knew.
“Oh Mama…I love you…goodbye…”

Beautiful you made me cry! We have been visiting our neighbour in a hospice today …. it was not as restful as your version. ❤

Such a sweet and sad story. Her having to say goodbye to her mother. Sad.

Though I did not have this experience personally, I have had “signs” from loved ones after their passing. In particular at my dad’s funeral, a single rose from an arrangement lifted before my eyes and fell at my mom’s feet. It always comforted me. 🙂

Yep! I have never forgotten it. Sadly his funeral was on the day that would have been their anniversary. He always gave her roses…which, of course, made it all the more poignant a gesture. 🙂

When my dad passed away I went outside. It was night and the moon was crescent. I looked up and it seemed to be smiling at me. It’s a common sight, I know, now, but before then I had never considered a crescent moon a smile. Coincidence? I don’t think so.

A lovely memory to cherish Dawn. I don’t think there are many coincidences in the world. ❤️

Thank you Sandra. Sometimes little signs can give one comfort after the loss of a loved one. I personally have experienced things that can’t be explained. 🙂
