I don’t often do commentary on politics, religion or fashion (threw this last one in here to see if you were paying attention), but when I do, I like to look a the absurdity of the issues we seem to lose our minds over. This week…it’s coffee cups. Next week…hide the babies and pull down the shade, it could be something as life-changing as placemats! At any rate, because so many people seem to be so worked up about this, I felt compelled to bring a bit humor into the discussion. I’m sure some folks may not find it humorous. Oh well, I did. So free speech and all, here is my Starbucks Meme. Happy Wednesday.

I agree..it’s comical how such a big deal is made of the ‘holiday’ season… You’d think we’d all be ‘strong’ enough to be able to embrace all religion’s different celebrations…I love seeing all of the different ways people celebrate! 🙂 🙂

I agree Linda. I love diversity and learning about other cultures. It makes life much more interesting when we each have our own unique style. Thanks for the comment! 🙂

I think your poetry is pleasing, your writing clever and wise, and your opinions a lot like mine….that’s a good thing. 🙂

Thanks Gradmama! There are a few of us rational types left…at least I like to think so. Nice to meet you! 🙂

Thanks Olga. Sometimes things just get a bit too absurd! 😜

Nice. I would just add that from a marketing point of view (and I am no fan of the marketing sector and departments), the outcry has done nothing but give Starbucks a whole lot of “free advertising.” Makes me think of Monty Python’s “Life of Brian,” which some on the religious right tried to get people to boycott and only caused MORE people to see the film.

When I first started seeing the Starbuck’s post I didn’t even get it. Thanks for clarifying. WTF? Who cares, right?

I didn’t know what it was all about! I thought it was something written on the cups, but this is equally as ridiculous, I don’t care either way honestly!
