morbid covidity
no news for me today
no hysterical talking heads
no sick counts, death tolls or lies to decipher
i’m just listening to the wind
no news is not necessarily good news

A Gogyohka today.
1. Gogyohka is a new form of short poem that is based on the ancient Japanese Tanka and Kodai Kayo;
2. Gogyohka has five lines, but exceptionally may have four or six;
3. Each line of Gogyohka consists of one phrase with a line-break after each phrase or breath;
4. Gogyohka has no restraint on numbers of words or syllables;
5. The theme of Gogyohka is unrestricted.

I love this poem and agree totally with the thought behind it.

We have to sometimes just listen to the wind. I’m glad you did, though you’re right, the rest went on.
I like the Gogyohka. Can always count on you for a new form.

It’s a fairly easy form and short and sweet! I did here our governor shut the state down. Virginia joining the ranks. 😟

I have been listening to the birds call and response, the sound of hostas bursting through the earth, the crinkle of leaves unfolding, the nibble of a rabbit enjoying the new shoots.
Thanks for a wonderful way to experience the world.
Good luck with your April experience — do like the image of pink flamingos in the snow.
Take good care. Stay safe and strong. All the best!
