The last tourists boarded the ferry to the mainland. As it pulled away from the harbor, John glanced at his wife Betty.
“Are you gonna miss all this?”
She smiled at him sweetly, “Oh John, I’m sure we’ll both be wondering what to do with ourselves. But I’m so excited. I’m going upstairs to pack.”
John checked the windows and door locks. The new inn keepers would be here soon. He paused for a moment in the parlor, remembering conversations with past guests…tales of travel and exotic destinations.
It would be their turn now. First stop, London.

HaHa! I did have a few questions about that one, with so many other lovely places in the world to go. Having never traveled across the pond, I dream one day of starting my European tour in the home of my ancestors…the British Isles of England, Ireland and Scotland. 🙂 So I supposed to each their own. Then on to Paris…and Amsterdam and Brussels…and 🙂

Ah, so they are going to reverse roles, from welcoming tourists to aggravating inn keepers. 🙂 Very likeable characters.
