Tis another Friday Word of the Day Haiku! Today’s Word is “Crepuscular”. According to Dictionary.com, this delicious word is related to the Latin term “creper” meaning obscure or dark (the Oxford Dictionary relates its Latin meaning to “twilight”). It entered the English language in the mid-1600’s.
I personally love this time of day…the dusk before nightfall. How delightful to have a new word to describe it. It naturally calls one to settle in for the evening…perhaps I shall this evening…tuck into a “crepuscular” nook with a good book!

I have toyed with the idea of doing a word a day but I’m afraid I wouldn’t get anything else done! I do glance at the other days of the week though. So interesting! 😊

Crepuscular. I love the time but think I’ll stick with dusk. It is just like dawn in reverse, and you don’t have to get up early to enjoy it. I do like the haiku though!

Thanks Dinata. I don’t know that I will ever use the word again. But it is fun learning new words! 🙂
