nothing to see on this overcast morn
the sunlight’s soft, muted, no shadows to swoon
no scampering squirrels, no birds on the wing
let’s happily linger between silken sheets
rhythmically purring, my predator sleeps,
blissful, not bothered as chickadees sing

Nothing quite like those warm, overcast Southern days… Being from the North, first time I saw one out the window I put on two sweaters — walked outside, walked back in and took them off again 😊

I’m a transplanted northerner myself. Not a fan of humid hot. Air conditioning is my friend! 😊

Yeah, some fair weather friend, waits to pull the rug out till the hottest day of the year and then does it in cahoots with all its air conditioner buddies down at the Air Conditioner Glory Days Bragging Hall so all the repairmen are off attending to THEM! Why… There oughta be a law, I tells ya! 😆

I like the way the rhymes work in this one. Goes with the lazy cat imagery 🙂

Lovely piece that allows rest and serenity. A wonderful mandate for our rushed world. Thanks, Kat!
