I imagine words that become poems are like fireflies, floating in my head; flying embers, glowing amber-red, ever so briefly, lost forever if I don’t snatch them up, singeing my fingertips ink black.
shush, can you hear it?
the flicker of a new thought
becoming a word

What a wonderful image for fleeting ideas- beautiful, ephemeral, hot. Gorgeous photo as well. Nice one Kat.

Thank you Francine. I took a photo of a leaf and photoshopped a campfire into it. 😉

Lovely Kat! I grabbed this idea because I think a 55 word limit does wonders for the haibun form. Short and sweet is what is needed, not a novel. This is a wonderful description of what’s behind the writing process.

I’m glad you had a go at it. I’ll probably be back to the Florescence tomorrow unless inspiration strikes elsewhere.

I’ll see you then. Saving my NaPoWriMo for after work. Today’s prompt was a bit wacky. Not at all anything to do with the author’s suggestion. I may go off topic today! 😳

It’s meant as a prompt. The poetry police won’t get you if you don’t follow it 🙂
