Another Cherita

it’s already old news…

even as streets, like arteries,
hemorrhage children, demanding

the right to see another day…
pious lawmakers hide and wait
for the rage to bleed out

So powerfully and compassionately told. I can only imagine what it feels like to experience yet another school incident without anything changing.. My heart goes out to you.

The gun rights politicians and their ilk are already blaming the children for not preventing this “for surely they knew this latest killer was crazy”. Sadly these same people also claim to be Pro-Life. We need to call them out. They are not pro-life for the living…:(

No I agree, God forgives those who need abortion, infact I don’t think he even forgives because there is nothing to forgive. The damn policians do the judging and who are they, No One. These prolifers pontificate about the life in the womb …the allow amazingly stupid gun laws to exist. No one should carry a gun, police and military are the exceptions. Where and how did a nineteen year old get hold of a gun, was it his. I thought 21 years was the age of majority in the US. Sadly the crazy or the mentally ill do not walk around with DANGEROUS tattooed on their foreheads. When will it end Kat, when will it end.💜

In Florida where he lived it is legal for 18 year olds to purchase what is called a long gun. To purchase a handgun requires the age of 21. According to reports he had several rifles. And the family who had taken him in after his mother died, had them locked in a cabinet thinking they had the only key. It’s chilling. The host father was ex-military and even worked in intelligence and he didn’t see this coming. I think it will end one day, but it may take the next generation to do it. 😟

This is so astonishing! He had legal access to gun. His family did all they could to keep the guns safe (sadly they failed) . Worst of all no one saw it coming. This information saddens me more. I feel for the family who took him in. I have just republish a post I wrote after the Sandy Hook Elementary School Mascare, with my thoughts then and now. Sadly in six years and many deaths later nothing has changed. 💜
