You might be deplorable,
horrible even, as adjectives go
no way to deny this despicable fact
actions speak louder than spin
indeed there are signs
lines boldly crossed
lost is all civil decorum
forums for haters draw furious mobs
snobbishly righteous,
outrageously rude
moot is all reason, truth doesn’t matter
flatter the barker, he’ll tickle your ears
fear’s the new master
disaster looms large
charges of treason for opposing views
booing and hissing vile, slanderous spew
you might be deplorable.

Another circular poem for Jane Dougherty’s Poetry Challenge. This one was churning in bits and lines in my notebook, like magnetic poetry that needed tweaking. 😉
Note: I had originally listed two poems in this post. I decided to give Raindrop her own voice. She moved HERE. 🙂

Thanks Catherine. I almost didn’t post it. Not wanting to add to the angst, but it is an observation not an indictment. 😉

It’s art. Art reflects our times and invites us to consider and be thoughtful. I think you do contribute to the collective consciousness in a very positive way. Write on! 👊🏼👍🏼👏🏼

I love the raindrop one. I’ve had a surfeit of Trump, I’m afraid, and the idea that the world is going to have to suffer him for the next five plus years is terrifying.

I agree with you. We’re looking at property in the British Virgin Islands if that happens! Well that’s one option…or Canada! 😳

Blimey! I thought the Virgin Islands was where millionaires stashed away their undeclared millions!

That would be the Cayman Islands. 😉

Oh, okay. Another relief. I wouldn’t like to think of you having people like that for neighbours 🙂

Oh, I imagine finding a new place, but like you I too will be on the front lines. Once an activist, always an activist. ✌🏻️

Sadly so. In the beginning it felt like a joke or some bizarre reality show stunt. I stopped laughing some time ago. It’s a nightmare.

It is a nightmare. What is scary is that people support him.

I am one of the few in my entire family and extended in laws and outlaws, etc. who doesn’t support him. It makes for a lot of dancing on eggshells and biting my tongue!!! Because as you know there is no reasoning with those that are enamored of him!

Sorry. It’s good that most of my family and friends do not support him.
There is no reasoning. The facts are out there–and now more on his crooked dealings with his foundation, too. They just don’t care and accept all of his lies. I don’t get it.

Part of the reason is the media. For 8 years certain “news” sources (that shall remain nameless) have gotten away with lies after lies with no accountability. Unfortunately, we have created this frankenstein monster.

Yes. It seems that there is finally some acknowledgement of that. I hope it’s not too little too late.

Great circle poem. This has such a bouncy rhythm to it, which adds to the anger, I think.
