No sound is sweeter…
Chipping Sparrows’ trill at dawn
Flawless perfection!
kat ~ 24 January 2016
Did you know…
The trill of Chipping Sparrow is nearly twice as long as that of any other species, and this is a consistent and very useful clue. In addition, the overall quality of the sound is usually mechanical and rattling, due to the complexity of each individual phrase. – Source: Sibley Guides
This Haiku is in response to Ronovan Writes Weekly Haiku Challenge. This week’s prompt words are: Trill & Final. Read other haiku or enter your own HERE.

Do you suppose a bird is happy when it sings or is it just shouting in the wind.

I don’t know if they are happy when they sing, but I like to imagine them as happy when they fly! 🙂

Oh it is! The high pitch trill that I’m sure you’ve heard before and didn’t know who was singing it. They are native to almost everywhere in the US.

I’ll have to pay more attention to the birdsong. Always envied the tranquility of birdwatchers doing their thing. Many ‘flock’ to the island for rare bird sightings, often arriving via a current from the surrounding seas.

Sounds like a wonderful place. I cannot imagine what our world would be without birds!
